Corporate event What makes companies distinguished in their competition for talents is more than a competitive salary. Cash is not the only thing which motivates present employees either. Very often, the decisive factor for accepting a job offer and staying a loyal employee is the company’s corporate culture.

Every organization, institution, or society lives according to established values. Upon their values, organizations create rules of behaviour, build relationships, and organize their activity. The dominating patterns of behaviour form the basis of their culture. Ideally, the various norms and codes are to guarantee efficient functioning of any social institution.

As job seekers usually look for long-term relationships with their prospective company, a positive firm’s culture can be the deciding factor when choosing a job. Thus, developing workplace culture is an effective staff attraction and retention strategy.

Corporate culture has to do with the way employees feel, behave, and interact with one another. A strong recruiting point for the firm is the belief that its employees must enjoy a healthy work/life balance, a non-hostile environment, and friendly cooperative relationships among fellow workers. In this case, one of the ways to develop a positive corporate culture is activities outside of workplace such as group travel and corporate breaks abroad, team building activities, company parties, and other corporate events.

By organizing such events, a company demonstrates how it values its people and cares about their emotional and physical well-being. Group travel and corporate outings help employees achieve healthy work/life balance. Away-days provide with plenty of conversation, entertainment, and new experiences. A weekend break abroad breaks monotony, inspires and gives time for relaxation. Various team building events give the participants an idea about the power of team spirit and thus encourage them for seeking harmonious cooperation at work. Corporate parties including annual celebrations (e.g. Christmas parties), company anniversaries, etc. are inseparable from corporate culture too. They bring employees together for enjoyment, relaxed communication and shared fun.

There are many factors that influence company’s ability to function on a daily basis and achieve its objectives. A positive and purposefully developed corporate culture drives the company’s performance and is vital for a long term success of the company: it decides effectiveness, cohesive teamwork, quality, and employee satisfaction.
