There may be various reasons for choosing cosmetic surgery abroad: lower healthcare costs, medical expertise, quality of care, safety, and shorter wait times. Cosmetic surgery services are available in a number of accredited private clinics in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius and the second largest city Kaunas.
Estetinės Plastikos Chirurgijos Centras (Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Centre) located in Vilnius, is known as the largest and the oldest private plastic surgery clinic in the Baltic States. VitkusClinic, another plastic surgery clinic situated in Vilnius, surrounded by a fresh pinewood and the quietness of an old apple-tree garden, belongs to the few plastic surgery clinics located in the city and at the same time surrounded by the magnificence of nature. The clinic meets the highest standards set for medical institutions, which ensure quality performance of cosmetic operations and, if needed, timely help. Here, operations are performed by one of the best European reconstructive plastic surgery specialists, micro-surgeon Kęstutis Vitkus, who has more than 30 years of clinical work experience and performs such procedures as face and neck skin rejuvenation, nose correction operations, breast surgery, and other cosmetic corrections. GP Klinika (GP Clinic) was established in 2001 in Kaunas, the second largest city of Lithuania, and is run by Dr Gintaras Papečkys, who has experience of more than 20 years and has been working in plastic surgery for 13 years. During his practice, the surgeon has performed more than 4000 plastic-aesthetic operations. Dr Papečkys is a member of Plastic-Reconstructive Surgery Association of Lithuania and a member the International Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Association. The clinic has a special activity license approved by the Ministry of Health Care of Lithuania. Like in many other Lithuanian plastic surgery clinics, the means and equipment used in operations and treatment and all the services provided completely meet top standards and requirements. The Plastic Surgery Centre, also in Kaunas, was established in 1992 by two surgeons, Saulius Vikšraitis and Tautrimas Aštrauskas. The procedures include face lift, eyelid, nose and ear surgery, removal of benign tumours, breast surgery, tummy tuck, etc.
