Corporate event entertainment Music is one of the most widespread forms of entertainment. Today, as a result of technological development, music surrounds us everywhere: at home, in the car, in public places and even at work.

Since corporate event planning often involves the search for entertainment, music can be the perfect ingredient. Everyday in the world companies host thousands of presentations, conferences and corporate events which can be enhanced by music.

As there is an immense variety of music styles and genres, there will always be something to suit the occasion, type of audience and goals of a corporate event.

For example, classical music creates an atmosphere of sophistication and elegance, which is ideal for formal events such as business dinner, reception or awards banquet. A jazz band will add colour to a workforce or prospective client entertainment programme. Pop and rock are best for parties where dancing is desired. A barbershop quartet will add fun to a national holiday gathering; meanwhile a choral group singing carols will create a warm, festive atmosphere at a Christmas holiday party.

Music may well serve corporate goals. It provides a relaxed background for networking during the breaks, after the event or for a party following afterwards. Since a corporate event is a direct reflection of the company hosting it, appropriate and appealing music as part of corporate entertainment boosts the company’s image. Music has a great effect on human emotions; thus, the way participants feel and consequently the success of the event much depends on the chosen style and presentation of musical performances.

To ensure a successful corporate event entertainment, a company should ask the following: what is the type of audience, what is the age range of those attending the event; what are their musical tastes (if it is possible to find it out); is the music for background listening or for entertainment; is there a need to change the style of music in the course of the event; are the corporate clients expected to be networking and discussing business-related issues or are they here only to have a good time?
Having considered these, a company may expect the desired effect – whether it is employees having fun after hard work, relaxed and fruitful discussions, sharing information or happy and motivated clients.
