Team activities Teamwork has become a principle value in modern business. People working in a team achieve goals more quickly. While working together team members feel stronger, more confident and more resistant to threat. Only balanced teams can contribute to the company’s growth and good image. Therefore, it is every organization’s concern to help their employees develop teamwork habits.

Team building is an ongoing process. It may include an array of team activities, games and exercises. Thus teamwork habits can be developed through practice. Outdoor activities oriented to common task perfectly fit the team building principle. Moreover, they offer challenge, relaxation and novelty, especially when organised in an unfamiliar environment, for example abroad.

With its rivers, lakes and an access to the Baltic Sea, Lithuania attracts water entertainment fans even from foreign countries. Water related recreational activities in Lithuania may well serve team building purposes for those who love travel and look for off the beaten way destinations.

Travelling along the Lithuanian rivers by canoe offers a unique team experience which combines challenge and scenery. The torrential streams, winds and obstacles on the way offer adventurous travellers a substantial dose of adrenalin in the springtime. During flood periods, some Lithuanian rivers remind real mountain rivers, recommended only for experienced water tourists. Meanwhile in summer time, canoeing offers the most beautiful sceneries. Travelling along the rivers of Labanoras Regional Park or, for example, Akštaitija National Park over 70% of which is covered by woods will make you feel like in the jungle. The regions are also known for their lakes, many joining and perfect for water entertainment. One of the most famous sights in Aukštaitija National Park (with 126 lakes scattered among the woods and hills in the territory of 405.7 km2) is Ladakalnis hill, the top of which opens an amazing panorama of 6 lakes.

Another kind of team activity deserving mention is regatta on Lake Galvė in Trakai, the capital of medieval Lithuania. Lake Galvė is known for international regatta events around a castle situated on an island. The town belongs to the Trakai Historical National park territory which contains impressive hill forts, castle sites, manors, and a spectacular landscape with more than 30 lakes in an area of 1,400 ha. Regatta event is a wonderful opportunity to test your skills of harmonious co-operation.

Fishing, as a kind of leisure activity related with water, guarantees some splendid moments with your colleagues or friends as well. Your team can try luck on the Baltic Sea or Curonian Lagoon where cod, sprat, salmon, pike and many other fish species reside. The Curonian Spit separating the Curonian Lagoon from the Baltic Sea is a masterpiece of nature featuring impressive sand dunes with neat fisherman villages scattered along the coast, pine-woods and unique fauna (cormorant colonies, for example).
