As a kind of entertainment, paintball is a way to get rid of everyday stress. It makes you feel like a child again. Just imagine yourself creeping through the thickets of the forest, looking for the cunning enemy who must be hiding somewhere nearby: you hold your breath, your senses are fully strained, you feel a chill down your spine, and all your daily troubles are left behind. Paintball is a team game challenging your mind and spirit. As long as you are keen on improving your game and find it enjoyable, paintball may be a great way for individual growth and teamwork enhancement.

Efficient teamwork depends on the personal qualities and behaviour of each team member. In a team where people don’t have good cooperation skills, even a professional player will feel helpless. Thus, just as in real life situations requiring productive teamwork, some personal skills are vital in paintball.

One of them is self-confidence. It is the key to success. How so? The explanation is quite simple: a self-assured player will inspire the rest of the team, and vice versa: a team having a strong sense of team spirit will encourage a player who lacks self-confidence.

In paintball, as in life, you have to be optimistic. Negative thoughts tend to make things worse; in this case, they will weaken your team. So don’t let yourself or your team-mates fall into despair – maintain your team spirit; otherwise you may fail…

Paintball is an opportunity to learn healthy competition. Although it requires aggressive action, you have to keep in mind that it is only a game. Taking it too seriously, shouting insults or mockery, will only spoil the friendly atmosphere, ruin the team spirit, and the game will give neither pleasure nor good results.

Paintball is also about overcoming your fears. Hiding in the bushes all the time is not the idea of this game. The sooner you start acting decisively the nearer is your victory.

The game shows how important it is to shake off the bitter feeling of disappointment whether the reason is the mistakes made by some of your team-mates or a missed target, or something else. Be more patient and attentive, try to relax and go on – it is important for your team.

Moreover, paintball allows for confronting your true self. The game simulates extreme situations in which you can see how you would react in an analogical real life situation. Moreover, it allows for judging about the hidden personal traits or potential of other team members.

All in all, paintball is not merely an amusing leisure activity; it is a real challenge of personal skills needed for good teamwork.
