About Restylane®
Restylane® injections are used to smooth wrinkles, sculpt lips, and improve other facial features, especially around the mouth and nose. Restylane® is a clear liquid gel, a non-animal-based hyaluronic acid (a natural sugar compound). Restylane® injections are usually done for patients aged 35 to 60.

The Procedure
The procedure is most often performed using local anaesthesia, particularly if a lip is being treated. During Restylane® injection, patients may feel some pain and discomfort from the needle.
First of all, the doctor will choose one or more injection points for each area to be treated. Antiseptic is also applied. The doctor will see the right amount of Restylane® to be used. The Restylane® filler is then introduced under the skin. Hyaluronic acid in the filler adheres to the skin as the water contained in the acid helps to retain volume under the skin’s surface. The acid acts as a magnet for water, which helps to maintain the new volume of the skin.
The length of the procedure depends on the extent of the treatment, so the procedure can take from a few minutes up to 30 minutes. Patients go back home soon after the procedure.

After Procedure
Swelling may be manifest, persisting for a couple or three days. Patients can carry on with their usual activities at once, though it is advisable to stay out of the sun.
Some other common side effects of Restylane® include headache, nausea, flu-like symptoms, redness, and pain at the injection points. Rarely, patients feel muscle weakness, which disappears within days, or sometimes, months following the procedure.
Uncontrolled pain, as well as progressive or abnormal symptoms should be reported to the doctor instantly.

Results and Duration of Effect
Results are fully apparent within one week.
Restylane® injections reduce wrinkles by about 80 percent. Restylane® is a temporary solution and follow-up treatments may be required. This depends on the extent of correction needed, the patient’s age and way of life as well as the correct placement of the product by a practitioner.
As clinical trials show, Restylane® is effective for 6 to 12 months for the treatment of wrinkles and for around 6 to 9 months for lip enlargement.
Patients usually receive additional Restylane® treatments after about 6 months.

About Teosyal®
Teosyal® is a new range of non-animal wrinkle fillers based on 100% hyaluronic acid.

Teosyal products are extremely biocompatible and are slowly absorbed. Teosyal® injections can be done into the whole face, neckline, neck and hands. Pre-testing is not required. Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of the skin. It preserves moisturising levels in the skin and improves skin tone.

As we age, the amount of hyaluronic acid in the skin decreases. Consequently, the skin dries out and becomes brittle and wrinkles appear. The tissues gradually droop and the face becomes hollow.
Injected into the skin, Teosyal® successfully lessens this hyaluronic acid deficiency because of its high hyaluronic acid concentration. Teosyal® stimulates and re-hydrates the skin, fills in wrinkles and lines, gives volume and emphasises lips, reshapes and softens facial contours.

Side Effects After Treatment
Side effects include injection-related effects such as swelling, itching, redness, tenderness, and pain. These normally dissolve after several days but may last up to a week after lip augmentation.

Timescales Involved
The results are visible at once with all Teosyal® products, except treatment with Teosyal Meso, which may involve 3 to 4 sessions at intervals of 3 to 4 weeks, afterwards one session every 3 months for preservation treatment.
Depending on your age and the structure of your face, more products may be needed at first to achieve the wanted effect but less in following procedures. Maintenance sessions are required between 6 to 12 months depending on the type of Teosyal® product used.

About Dermalive®
Dermalive® is a long-term wrinkle reduction product created to fill facial wrinkles and correct skin defects. It is a new type of hyaluronic gel which is thick enough to augment cheekbones, fill deep naso-labial folds and inverted scars or make a weak chin look more prominent.
The gel can last up to several years. It consists of non-animal ingredients, which significantly lessens the risks of allergic reactions. This means that no pre-test is required before injection.

The procedure
Dermalive® is injected into the inner layers of the skin, beneath the wrinkle that needs treatment. The acrylic hydrogel and hyaluronic acid gel in Dermalive® forms a capsule that renews skin volume, reduces wrinkles, corrects lip contours or adds volume to the cheek and chin area. Soft tissue enhancement in the cheek, chin and lips is also possible. Dermalive® injections are also used to treat acne scars, frown lines, flat or wrinkled lips, glabellar and laughter lines and fine lines around the mouth.
The whole absorption process takes several months. The acrylic hydrogel particles are maintained at the injection area and thus give long-term effects. The hyaluronic acid provides the acrylic hydrogel with a smooth, gentle integration period. Two or three sessions are normally enough to give best possible results lasting for several years.

Side Effects
Some redness and oedema, sometimes painful, may appear following injection, usually disappearing spontaneously within a few hours or days. Rarely, a local inflammatory reaction may arise a few months after the injection, which can occur with any implant. Though these complications are infrequent, you have to be aware of such possibilities. Ask your doctor to describe the risks related with any procedure you are interested in. If there are any side-effects, consult your doctor without delay.

Precautions
In spite of its lasting nature, Dermalive® cannot prevent skin ageing; so one or more additional sessions may be required after several years. These treatments may be done in about half an hour. You can go back to work and resume normal activities instantly afterwards.
